I stumbled across this scene whilst wandering though the pathless moors beneath Ben Hope on the Kyle of Tongue. I loved the way the bare heather stems and tuft of grass were clinging to life, together, on the north side of this rock whilst rain and snow showers swept across Ben Loyal to the south of me. Given the remoteness and accessibility of the area, I stood and wondered whether anyone had taken in this view before, let alone photographed it. These are the moments I most enjoy in photography, finding those unique and simple scenes well off the beaten tracks. The weather of the day, on 25th March 2019, added to the drama.
