Having lived in Northern California for many years, I return annually to visit old friends and spend some time on the coast. I've always enjoyed being near the ocean, as I find it very relaxing.
This photo was made near the town of Ft. Bragg, about 100 miles north of San Francisco, and one of my favorite locations for making images of nature. This image was somewhat of an experiment for me, as I chose to mount a filter and alter the look of the tide and its ebb and flow against the shoreline. It was still relatively early in the morning, with an overcast sky just beginning to clear. I used my LCD screen to give me a feel for the look and feel of the filter's affect, and liked the look of this particular image.
