Pen Y Fan, Brecon Beacons, Wales by Gregg Cashmore

Conditions in North Wales (Snowdonia) didn't go to plan. I made the decision to head back down to South Wales and spend the night at Pen Y Fan, ready for a 03:30 alarm call. After a few snooze buttons I eventually dragged myself out of bed, grabbed my gear and headed up the mountain path in darkness.

Half way up and I was absolutely shattered. Eventually I made it to the summit with only a few minutes to get a composition for sunrise. I think this is possibly one of the most spectacular light shows I've seen as a photographer. It really does make all the efforts worth while when something like this happens.
