Glasswing Butterfly, Aston, Sheffield, England by Janice Gill

This shot was taken at the Butterfly House at Aston, Sheffield. Taking macro shots of insects demands a lot of patience but I was rewarded here with a beautiful light reflected from the flower onto the Glasswing Butterfly.

Macro is one of my favourite photographic genre, so I invested in a good quality macro lens which also doubles as a portrait lens.
When working in high humidity environments such as this, a lens cloth is essential to keep clearing condensation.

The Butterfly House is open all year and is a great family destination. There are plenty of other animals and birds to keep everyone interested.

Camera Olympus E-M10 MarkII
Lens Olympus 60mm Macro
