Eyjafjallajokull, Iceland by Andrzej Muzaj

This picture grew in me as it was sitting on my hard drive for the last 9 months, waiting to be post-processed. In may 2018 I did a month long trip to Iceland, finished with a few days on the Faroe Islands.

I drove around Iceland over three times, taking many detours along the way. I encountered this magnificent view on my way to one of the Icelandic rare forests, very near the Thórsmörk. The road there has a great view over Eyjafjallajökull glacier and volcano. The weather was changing fast, as it always does in Iceland. I stopped the car when I saw the rainbow, grabbed my camera sitting in the rear seat and shot if from the great distance. The mood and the atmosphere of the scene were both dynamic and gentle. As the rain clouds passed over the mountain, a strong rainbow appeared completing the composition. A few days ago, when I was culling going my images again, I rediscovered it. The majesty of natural elements captivated me and I decided to give it a go. I'm happy to hear your thoughts.
