This morning on the way to the tip of the north west of Scotland, I took a detour so I could drive along the wonderful Loch Maree. The rain was torrential, the wind was brutal and there appeared little or no chance of getting out of the car, let alone take a photograph. However, as I meandered along the road, twisting and turning, the rain stopped. The wind remained, but as I drove over the crest of a small hill, this vista opened up before my very eyes.
A spectacular light show over Loch Maree. The strong winds and fast moving clouds played games with the low sun, resulting in the light bouncing all around me. A quick camera set up, no time for a tripod, I couldn't let this scene leave without recording it. For 15 minutes, I stood there, transfixed at the sight before me - it was akin to the experience I had when seeing the Northern Lights for the first time.
