Bala Lake, Wales by India Burchell

I had flown home to England and driven to mid Wales to celebrate Christmas. As usual Christmas Day can go by quickly and ours was very busy. It was on Boxing Day that we had the opportunity to get outside and explore the area. Bala Lake had been recommended to us and we were told that it was only a short drive away from our accommodation. We did not make it out until nearly sunset and I remember being very impatient during the car ride because I thought we wouldn't make it until after the sun had set. Once we got to the lake the sky was unbelievable, such amazing colours with the mountains and calm water, I could have stayed photographing it forever. In the moment of photographing the lake the cold air didn't bother me too much but we soon had to return to the car! It was an experience I will never forget.
