Black Church Rock, North Devon, England by Gregg Cashmore

A fantastic day leading a Workshop along some spectacular coastline. Our last stop was Black Church Rock near Clovelly in North Devon. We weren't expecting anything too dramatic but things just progressed as we got closer to Sunset. Stumbling around the rocks I found this little rock pool with some gorgeous reflections. The atmosphere was intense!

Every photographer gets those odd moments once in a while, where everything comes together perfectly and you just stand there thinking 'Yes, I love photography'.

About Author

Gregg Cashmore

Photography for me started in 2010, my step father handed me down his old Canon which immediately sparked my love for landscape, It opened my eyes to the surroundings, it made me stop and look. I started noticing things I'd never really noticed before, cloud formations, colours, shapes of rocks, and light. Photography drives me, motivates me to go exploring. Even on those cold and wet days, there's always a photograph to be taken and being based in Devon and Cornwall, there's no shortage of places to go. Within 20 minutes I can be along a dramatic coastline capturing the crashing waves, or stomping across Dartmoor in the fog. As time goes by I've become more and more critical of my work, I'm inspired by others to produce something special to share. Since upgrading my camera equipment and investing in a small campervan, I'm now travelling further afield, always planning road trips, driving through the night to arrive at a destination to capture the sunrise, locations such as Snowdonia, The Brecon Beacons,  The Lake District and Scotland.  I keep my editing to a minimum and prefer to capture and share something real, those real life moments that can never be repeated but also invoke a sense of the "now".
