Smith Rock Evening, Oregon, USA by Erik Haake

This was my first visit to Smith Rock, so being me I naturally avoided the traditional image (at least at first) and went off the beaten track looking unique compositions. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a tame evening in terms of color, but I really like the mood in this image and the lovely pattern in the foreground rock.

Smith Rock is a pretty amazing place, you can visit pretty much any time of year and make great images. While this was only my first time here, I will definitely be back! This image was made with 6 exposures, 4 for the focus stack, a darker exposure for the sky and a slower one for the water.
