This image was taken on my first visit to Mt. St. Helens in Washington State. It shows the beautiful valley and part of Spirit Lake. Standing next to a giant volcano while making pictures causes some goosebumps knowing that Mt. St. Helens is still a ticking time bomb and an active volcano capable of a future eruption. I was standing only a few miles from the volcano and when the blast occurred in 1980 it unleashed its fury up to 13 miles away!
