We have just had a 3-week road trip around some of the Western US National Parks. While at the Grand Canyon, we decided to head out to see the sunrise - I'm normally on my own this early, so it was really special to see this one as a family.
This little tree caught my eye when we arrived and happily, it was pointing right at where the sun would eventually rise above the canyon.
There are currently wildfires burning on the North Rim, caused by lightning strikes - The smoke is visible on top left, and it was flowing down into the canyon. It looks like early morning mist, but sadly, on this occasion, it wasn't.
