Ballintoy, N Ireland by Shaun Turner

Another sunrise this morning and Ballintoy was the location of choice. Famous for being used in Game Of Thrones TV series and a popular tourist attraction, getting down early in the morning is sometimes the only way of capturing this beautiful place. When i arrived it was broken cloud and perfect for the scene i had in mind. I setup in advance and sat on the edge with a coffee in hand wondering just how many people are fast asleep missing the best moment of the day.

Once the sun began to rise at 0450 my composition and exposure was locked in and i waited for the moment i thought was right. The warm, golden colours that were on display as the sun began to rise was unbelievable, it was something we often travel far and wide on oversees holidays to witness but here we have it on our back door step unknown to those who are fast asleep.
