Male Polar Bears, Kaktovik, Alaska by David and Shiela Glatz

As the sun rose over the Arctic, painting the sky a soft pink color, these two sub-adult males came together on a spit of land off the coast of Kaktovik, Alaska. The bears proceeded to spar, knocking each other around with their huge paws and occasionally even biting one another. However, these youngsters were just playing around. The real and serious business of fighting is in their futures, when the goal is to achieve mating rights.
