Amicalola Falls State Park, Georgia, USA by Richard Higgins

In early November I decided visit northern Georgia in the USA to photograph waterfalls. The autumn colors were at their peak. A friend of mine and I went to Amicalola Falls State Park and discovered that the fall colors were at their best.

At the top of the falls, there was a blanket of mist adding drama, character and beauty to the whole scene. I saw that many of the photographers were shooting the same area which I didn't see a good composition. I decided to head down the trail several hundred yards from the top to find a better composition. I found what I thought was the perfect composition to capture all the autumn beauty around the falls. This is only one of several falls I shot that day.

Camera Nikon D850
Lens TAMRON SP 24-70mm f/2.8
Aperture f/16
S/S 0.8sec
ISO 64
Additional Notes Used a tripod, mechanical shutter and a PL filter to remove the shine on the leaves
